sunday blast

here u go.. my collage summary..

my beloved inlaws brought the glorious food. Nasi minyak.
i made the deserts, brownies and nutella fudge.
Isham brought back so much goodies, my fave was the pempek!
we made and watched a few photo montage.. its been a while since we got together at my place.. i miss them..!

we had a special guest too, Cik Sariff, who wasn't feeling well with giddy spells.
it ended abruptly at 6 coz Cik Sariff was having low blood and so weak. they send him to hospital from my place..

my gurls are down with fever and flu. Doc say the hot weather may be the culprit. Whatever it may be, it caused Elisya to miss performing for her speech and drama tomorrow.
Now i need to monitor Insyirah's cough so it doesn't get worse.
Only bebeMika is save from this contagious ailment.
Hope they get better soon

Wilton's Basic Course

AlhamduliLLah, I completed my first cake decorating course.
I got to know Peggy, Ana, Preethi & Hetty..

 Back at home Insyirah showed she too has a flair for decorating cupcake.. without my assistance she did well..

Buttercream Recipe Shared by Instructor Cheryl

Buttercream

200g butter

70g white

70g Icing sugar

1 tsp Vanilla

Method: Beat egg white + icing sugar till firm

Beat butter + Vanilla till light & fluffy

Add in 1/2 egg white till all well combine

GTweed chix rice

Chuan Eng cooked for us authentic Hainanese Chicken Rice
She cooked 5 chickens and we prepared about 2 kg of rice for all to enjoy
a wonderous occasion..

I just help and learn the cooking process while I eat my own tabao of nasi lemak with roasted balck peppper chicken.. ;p

bedroom re-visited

we decided to give it another coat of paint. now it is much brighter and breezy...!
now the gurls were so excited to sweep the clean floor, we will see how long this enthusiasm last..

Singkids with Sofiyyah

September School Holidays
today we played at Singkids with Sofiyyah. we met during lunch, then we head over to the cool indoor playground at VivoCity.
After we played at the indoor playgound, my mother went shopping. Well me and my sisters shopped too. I got myself new shoes, tops and handbags. And so did my sisters. It was a great day!

baked macaroni

my first attempt
Baked Macaroni & Cheese

using left over spaghetti sauce with macaroni. i whipped up the white sauce, topped with cheese and baked it with love.

Recipe salvage from the net

White sauce

3 tbsp butter

3 tbsp flour

3 cup milk

1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon paprika

• 1 tablespoon powdered mustard

While the pasta is cooking, in a separate pot, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and mustard and keep it moving for about five minutes. Make sure it's free of lumps. Stir in the milk, onion, bay leaf, and paprika. Simmer for ten minutes and remove the bay leaf. I obviously put in what I have in the fridge.

Pour white sauce over the macaroni and topped with cheddar cheese..Bake for 30 mins.

my second attempt of this faved cuppies. baked from scratch from Baby's recipe. it is delightfully scrumptious..!

Recipe from Baby

Red Velvet Cuppies

2 1/2 cup cake flour - sift

2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tsp salt

1 1/2 cup veg oil

2 large eggs ( room temp)

1 tsp red gel

1 tsp vanilla essence

1 cup buttermilk (1 cup of milk + 1 tbsp vinegar set aside min 30 mins)

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

2 tsp white distilled vinegar

Method: Cake flour, cocoa & salt (Whisk)

Sugar and oil (whisk on medium speed)

Add eggs 1 at a time, mix in colour and vanilla

Reduce speed to low

Mix in flour mixture in 3 batches alternating with 2 addition of buttermilk

Baking soda & vinegar (last 12 seconds)

Bake at 180 degC for 20 mins

Cream Cheese Frosting

100gm icing sugar     ]

250gm cream cheese ] whipped

10gm butter              ]

optional 1/2 box Non Dairy Cream - whipped

Method : Mix cream cheese mixture into Non Dairy Cream mixture

rich chocolatey taste

it is not as crunchy as DaDa's, and topping simply too rich !
sedap tapi after 1 piece my throat hurts! i hope its because i am unwell..
still I am proud as it is my first made from scratch Brownie...

independence

my girls attempt to sleep on their own room with much anxiety.
Insyirah was not excited about sleeping without me. Shysta however was so eager playing in the new room. then the 2 sisters manage yo sleep as it had been a truly long day. Shysta desperately look for me and her bottle of milk. slept by her side then went to my room for a peaceful sleep. in the middle of the night the lil one come in crying for comfort.. haiz
it is a good start anyway and we have plans to jazz up that bedroom. now it is a bare room...

my parents stayed with us for about 2 years. we are helping them move now that their new home is ready... 1Sep'13
